Two proud Settefratese have reached distinguished high officer ranks in the Order of Sons of Italy in America.

Home  They are John Macari (left in photo) who is a first generation Settefratese with both his parents born in Settefrati and Anthony (Antonio) Conetta (right in photo) who was born in Settefrati and emigrated to USA as a young boy in 1954.
John is currently the 1st Vice President of the Order's Loggia Glen Cove, in Glen Cove, NY which has many native Italian members from Avellino and Suturno--John his the only Settefratese member. Antonio is currently the 1st Vice President of the John Michael Marino Lodge in Port Washington, NY which has many native Italian members from Ceccano, Sardinia, Avellino and one from Opi--Antonio is the only Settefratese member.
While Antonio returns to his home in Settefrati and the feast every 2 or 3 years, he is constantly urging John to make his first trip to the village of his parents and ancestors. Needless to say over the years, Antonio has described to John in great detail the Madonna, the feast, the fireworks, the ponte, thel Colle, Canneto, la via vecchia, the war, how it felt to leave the only place he knew for a strange unknow land and how all Sttefratese love their village and the mountains.
